Drop in for an all-ages, all-skill level drawing workshop with mixed media artist Claire Wentzel. Explore biased preconceptions and abandon judgment of your own self-image and creative expression as you revel in the satisfying joy of instant-art through blind contour self-portrait and gesture sketching exercises. We’ll be in the Scorpion Café in the Rogers Student Center (RSC) as part of “Untold Stories: An Exhibition Exploring the Artist as Storyteller.” Claire’s painting “Awaken” is also featured in the show on the third floor of RSC.
The Artist at Work series seeks to engage the campus and community in conversations about topics like what art-making as work looks like, the role of the artist in the workforce, STEAM initiatives, the arts as advocacy, and the arts as a driver of economic development and tourism.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from Nevada Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
This event is free and open to the public.
